1:1 with anne testimony: I can’t tell you how incredible my 1:1 mentoring experience was with Anne.  I learned so much about composition, lighting, finding the right locations, shooting wide open, styling my clients, editing…I could just go on and on!  My vision for where to photograph my clients, when to photograph my clients, and how to photograph my clients has completely evolved since taking her class.  I have my portraits looking how I have always dreamed they would look, and I truly feel Anne has helped me reached that through her mentoring.  If you are thinking about doing one of Anne’s classes, DO IT!!!!  It will be one of the best investments of your photography business….EVER!

This workshop was AMAZING! Prior to the workshop starting, I submitted samples of what I considered to be my best work. Leah and Anne provided honest, constructive (and tactful) feedback so I knew what to focus on as the workshop progressed. The editing portions of the workshop were structured, while the personal assignment portion was self-paced. Some photographers were able to complete more assignments than others, depending on each person’s available time throughout the workshop (and Mother Nature’s cooperation). Personally, this was my busiest time of year, so I wasn’t able to complete as many of the assignments as I had hoped to. That being said, I still feel I got my money’s worth and have grown leaps and bounds as a photographer as a result of this workshop! I love the format of the workshop – interacting with Leah and Anne during the editing webinars was one of my favorite parts. They are so fun, and are two of the kindest, most supportive photographers I have ever met. I am so thankful for this experience, and have remained in contact with them, as well as a number of other amazing photographers who took the course with me. Take this course – you won’t regret it!

This workshop was a game changer for me. Anne and Leah are not only extremely talented photographers but also excellent teachers and they don’t hold anything back. They offered me honest critique on what I thought were my 10 best photos. They knew where I wanted to improve and what my weaknesses were and helped me work towards improving them. They helped me see what it was I wanted to achieve in my photography in every step along the way – from before even picking up my camera then all the way through to post-production editing. They thoroughly shared their knowledge and I felt as if nothing as held back. The best thing about them is Anne and Leah truly want to see each of their students excel and be the best they can be. Honest, generous, funny, creative, talented, artistic … words can’t express what these women bring to the table.
I ended the workshop feeling I not only got all my money’s worth, but gained two new friends.

I just had to share my experience with you all. I have admired the work of two photographers Leah Robinson https://www.facebook.com/leahrobinsonphotos?ref=br_tf and Anne of Anja Photography https://www.facebook.com/anjaphotos for a very long time, so imagine my excitement when I saw that they were offering a joint workshop. The opportunity to learn from not only one, but two great photographers was too good to pass up.
At first I was a little nervous about pressing the “pay now” button, but let me tell you, it has been worth every single cent and more.
The workshop has run over the past two weeks, so I am almost at the other side (which I’m very sad about) but I am just blown away this workshop. It has been one of the best workshops I’ve ever taken. The workshop starts with a portfolio review by both Anne and Leah on ten photos chosen by me and I learnt a heap just from this review and the workshop had only just begun. From that point, Anne and Leah give out both personal assignments (catered to each person’s growth) as well as group assignments. You are given the opportunity in the forum to see everyone else’s portfolio review and assignments and I have to say, I learnt soooo much from not only what they were teaching me, but from what they were teaching others and I couldn’t have been more excited and thrilled to see all the other members growth. It was truly amazing to see and an absolute credit to both mentors.
The attentiveness by Anne and Leah on a daily basis was absolutely phenomenal. They were engaged actively every single day and not only were they reviewing assignments and giving gentle, constructive and encouraging criticism that really helped nudge and push each person to grow individually, but they were also open books answering every and any question that we threw at them.
There were also two webinars, yes TWO, the first covered a huge amount including creative processing, lighting techniques, how to capture emotion, location hunting and what to look for, camera techniques, lens choices oh and so much more, with lots of visual examples to help us really understand. The second webinar was an editing one, but honestly, this was just the icing on the cake compared to what I gained from the entire overall workshop.
I am so excited to keep practicing everything I have learnt with my newly acquired skills. I used to wander around location hunting with only half an idea on what to look for but now I feel so much more confident and have had great success now I know the secret to finding the right place and the right light. I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough and if any of you consider doing it, don’t hesitate, YOU WON’T REGRET IT!

I just had the pleasure of taking @L Robinson and @anja mini Magical light workshop and let me tell you it is awesome. It’s a small group forum where they take the time to cc in such a honest and caring way. No, there’s no editing involved with this particular one but they show us where the magic starts and thats with the right light. I can only imagine their two week workshop with editing included would be well worth the money and I can’t wait to take it also someday.
Before the workshop I hadn’t realized I was missing the mark when looking for the right kind of light. With their help I was able to see the light with a whole new perspective. And not only that they taught me how to be more creative when I shoot and how to portray the emotion my photos were lacking. I really couldn’t believe the wealth of information I received in just one short week. And because a review wouldn’t be complete without a photo, here’s one of my favorites from the week. TFL!

I have been really quiet here lately because I have been busy with life with my new baby and my other children. But I wanted to pop in to give a review of an amazing online workshop that I was fortunate enough to participate in over the last 2 weeks – Horizon Within run by Leah Robinson and Anne Kerr (Anja Photography). If you haven’t seen their work before, then I highly recommend that you go and check them out …
I love their work so much that when I saw that they were going to run a workshop I started stalking their FB pages to make sure I didn’t miss out on the first run. This workshop has challenged me in an amazing way – the critiques, assignments, lessons and webinars have made a huge impact on me. We covered lighting, composition, editing and many other topics. Anne and Leah put so much time and care into the course and worked in detail with each participant to help them reach their individual goals. At this stage of my photography journey, this workshop was just what I needed to move my photography forward. We had a great group of participants and have become good friends who will keep in touch in the future. I think this course is best suited to photographers who are very comfortable shooting in manual mode and who want to advance their photography (particularly their outdoor photography) to the next level.

After doing a skin webinar with Anne & Leah…they left me wanting more.  I reached out to them and told them my needs and what I wanted to accomplish and they provided me with their honest opinion of what would work best, which in the end was the 2 week online forum workshop.  Though I was unsure if I would get ENOUGH out of a class that was only online, I trusted their advice and signed up.  Plus I loved that it was in Feb to March, this way ready to take on the Spring Season.
I came out of the workshop with a well rounded understanding of everything I needed to begin changing and wanting to do better.  They both pushed to get the best out of everyone involved and took the time to answer each and every question.  I could come and go as I pleased and work at my own pace.  You really do get what you put into it.  It was really hard to go out and shoot in freezing, snowy conditions but in the end it only made me work harder.  Since the workshop has ended, I have been eagerly trying to get out and photograph whenever possible, only to practice all of my skills that I have learned.  This workshop has brought back that passion that I knew was fading.
Anne & Leah are extremely kind and caring individuals.  They truly are teaching to see people grow and learn.  They are both very easy to talk to and to ask questions and certainly no egos where displayed.  I consider them both mentors and with the private Facebook group, can continue to ask questions when needed.  If you are considering taking your photography to a different level, the two week online forum is worth every cent.

Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart for sharing your incredible skills and talent with us.  I feel like my work is evolving and I see things so differently when I shoot now.  I feel more confident walking into a new location and can guide my sessions along with purpose.  And the editing.  Stop it! I learned so much!!!!  I have long admired your work — both of you.  I am so grateful to have learned from you.  Although this fall has been super busy for me and I’m drowning, next year I am going to apply a new spin on my business based on the business-side of the workshop. I will be working smarter not harder. I anticipate big things for my business next year, so thank you!!!!!

I just can’t say enough about these wonderful ladies and what a great team they make. I am fortunate enough to be able to say that I have taken not one, but TWO of their in-person workshops. (I also took an online workshop)  I have learned so much from the two of them and the difference in my work is unmistakable. They are patient and honest in a way that allowed me to grow as a photographer in ways that wouldn’t have happened  without their support. When I realized that they would be holding another workshop a mere two hours down the road from me, I had to find the money somehow to be able to attend again! There was no way I was going to miss Anne and Leah when I knew they were within driving distance of me…. Attending the second workshop truly “cemented” the learning I had achieved from the first workshop, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The camaraderie and knowledge that was shared by the other talented photographers in attendance was simply just an added plus. From the portfolio reviews, lighting and shooting techniques, beautiful models and finally post processing methods, nothing was left undone or unanswered. The best part is that they continue to be available for support after the workshop has ended. As an educator myself, I can say that this is the  perfect learning model! I can’t recommend them enough!
